The Fallout Franchise: A Journey Through the Wasteland
The Fallout series, its like, totally awesome! A post-apocalyptic role-playing game (RPG) franchise that’s, like, captured the hearts of gamers everywhere. Seriously, the storylines are engaging, the worlds are immersive, and you can customize your character so much! It’s become a, like, a major thing in gaming. In this here article, we’ll take a look at the latest news and updates, from stuff that’s already happened to what’s coming next. I’m so excited!
A Brief History of Fallout
Bethesda Game Studios, those guys are amazing, created the Fallout series. They also did Elder Scrolls and Doom, which are also awesome. The first Fallout game came out in 1997, made by Interplay Entertainment. It was set in 2161, after a nuclear war, like, eighty-four years after! You play as a Vault Dweller, a survivor from an underground vault. You gotta find a new water chip to save your peeps. It was intense!
Recent Developments
Fallout 76: The Online Adventure
In 2018, Bethesda released Fallout 76, an online multiplayer game. It was different from the other Fallout games, but it was still pretty cool. I mean, playing with other people was fun, even if it had its problems at first. They’ve added a bunch of updates since then, like Wild Appalachia, which was pretty sweet. I really liked the new quests.
Update | Release Date | New Features |
---|---|---|
Wild Appalachia | February 2020 | New season, new quests, new items, OMG! |
Wastelanders | April 2019 | Human NPCs, new storyline, improved gameplay mechanics, finally! |
Nuclear Winter | December 2018 | Battle royale mode, it was okay, I guess. |
Fallout 4: The Next Generation
Fallout 4, released in 2015, was a big change. It was set in Boston, after the apocalypse, of course. You’re a survivor from Vault 111. It had some really good DLCs, like Automatron, Far Harbor, and that Contraption Workshop thing. I spent way too much time building stuff in that one.
DLC | Release Date | New Features |
---|---|---|
Automatron | March 2016 | New storyline, new quests, new robot companion, so cool! |
Far Harbor | May 2016 | New storyline, new quests, new island to explore, loved it! |
Contraption Workshop | February 2016 | New contraptions and machinery to build and use, I could have played this forever. |
Fallout: New Vegas: The Spin-Off
Fallout: New Vegas, came out in 2010. It was a spin-off, but it was still really good. It’s set in Las Vegas, after the bombs dropped. You’re a courier, and you get caught up in a big conflict. The DLCs, Dead Money and Honest Hearts, were awesome. Dead Money was kinda creepy though.
DLC | Release Date | New Features |
---|---|---|
Dead Money | April 2010 | New storyline, new quests, new location to explore, scary but good! |
Honest Hearts | October 2011 | New storyline, new quests, new location to explore, I liked this one better. |
